Academic Board (AcB)

The primary academic committee is the Academic Board. It is comprised of LCC internal staff members and currently has two external observers, Greg Clarke (formerly Associate Secretary, University of Salford) and Dr Jo Cahill (University of Hertfordshire).

The LCC Principal chairs the Board and its membership includes senior Academics, Heads of Departments, Programme Manager, Programme Leaders and Registrar, plus Student Representatives.

The AcB’s key role is to sign-off all academic decisions and has been delegated authority in all academic matters by the BoD. The College publishes AcB Minutes on the website and sends the Minutes of its meetings to the Board of Directors and College Oversight Board (COB), to communicate what it has agreed academically. The COB uses academic information to recommend to the BoD revisions to the College Strategic Statement, as the Board needs both an understanding of the business needs and academic needs of the LCC, to inform its thinking.
